!OUT NOW! Ready for the Weekend !OUT NOW!

Ready for the Weekend is the second album by Calvin Harris!! It feels like I've been waiting for this since he created disco. The new album feels ever more personal, or at the very least very nostalgic, unlike his first album - with tracks like "Not Alone" and "Flashback".

It's out TOMORROW! Check it out at iTunes

Until I can get the new album, I am celebrating by making my very own fly eyes photo via the Calviniser!

Gogol Bordello in Va. @ The Norva with DeLeon [July 31 09]

What a fantastic night! I survived it with a broken toe from people dancing on and around my feet, and danced my ass off in an alcoholic stupor trying to keep up with the continuous energy of GB and their gogo girls. It was pretty much non-stop energy, they did not play any of their slower ballads. Apparently I took approximately 20 minutes of video footage which is strange because I don't remember much of anything other than dancing. The Norva was a really awesome venue, not too big but not that small either; and it wasn't TRASHY! Outside patio area for smokers (beware, drinks at the outside bar are ~1$ more expensive than from the indoor bar!)

DeLeon - a Spanish indie rock band out of Brooklyn was a perfect opener for GB. I had heard them previously, but their recordings do not do their live performances any justice. Amy Crawford's voice was beautiful and the trumpet added that western feel reminiscent of the Pulp Fiction soundtrack. The performance was a wonderful concoction of beautiful spaniard harmonies and indie rock.
From what I have searched, there is extremely limited footage of DeLeon (with only one music video available, La Serena:youtube); they are hard to find as they share their name with other artists. So I offer my live recording and photos!
