Scapegoat/Wretched/Sugarglyder/Lost/Letlive 9.12.09

All of these guys played awesome sets!!

Letlive was in town and played an awesome set that unfortunately I didn't get very good videos of (sadface) because I was bouncing around too much. Jason kept mentioning that he was half-black and relating it to his penis. I think audience got the message! It appears Jason and I are musical soulmates as we are into the same industrial rock bands, hah!

Lost was great, even though no one could understand the Japanese lyrics, they still danced to the music! I tried to remember what I learned in Japanese class but I only got as far as asking their names and introducing myself.
I think it was my first time seeing Wretched - they were pretty badass and of course Scapegoat was phenomenal! Justin D. was very epic with his fan-blown hair.

"Give some scream for Scapegoat!" - singer of Lost

I don't know how to do a post cut, so here is my trigger.rec-happy collection of videos from the 12th!

Peelander Z WORLD HEALTH TOUR 9.16.09

Peelander Z brought down the house! I was one of the first shows on their World Health tour, and there were a few familiar faces in the crowd (that's you Mo, and guy with the cat mask!) but mostly people that didn't know what sort of Japanese crazyness was about to take place! There were quite a few 'Mike' in the crowd and they all got called out by Peelander Yellow! He was reminiscing very sadly about 'too many Mike' stealing his girlfriend this time. The big finale included Peelander bowling, and a re-set-up of the equipment in the middle of the venue, where PZ made everyone run in a circle around them! Imagine here, a place full of drunk people, stumbling over each other in a frenzied way, in a circle, fueled by Japanese rock! Needless to say I hope I fulfilled my duty as bouncy fangirl. I think next time I will bring my giant canvas fan-painting I made and have them sign it!

Metal Brutality Murder Show @ Tremont

Last night I went exploring the metal scene in the QC and I experienced a lot of very brutal metal. The lineup was A Vision Grotesque, Diavolo, Zeus, and Columns and they played a good mix of some thrashy death metal and grindcore. I never got too much into the death metal scene so I won't try to sound like I know what I'm talking about; but it was very fun! One thing's for sure these guys love getting rowdy and head banging and screaming at their audience.. occasionally throwing things - including themselves!
Deafness from not using/forgetting earplugs is probably in my future.
